SVHij stelde ook de gelijkenis van een gesneden beeld, die hij gemaakt had, in het huis Gods, van hetwelk God gezegd had tot David en tot zijn zoon Salomo: In dit huis, en te Jeruzalem, dat Ik uit alle stammen van Israel verkoren heb, zal Ik Mijn Naam zetten tot in eeuwigheid.
WLCוַיָּ֕שֶׂם אֶת־פֶּ֥סֶל הַסֶּ֖מֶל אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה בְּבֵ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָמַ֤ר אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל־דָּוִיד֙ וְאֶל־שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה בְנֹ֔ו בַּבַּ֨יִת הַזֶּ֜ה וּבִֽירוּשָׁלִַ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֤ר בָּחַ֙רְתִּי֙ מִכֹּל֙ שִׁבְטֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אָשִׂ֥ים אֶת־שְׁמִ֖י לְעֵילֹֽום׃

wayyāśem ’eṯ-pesel hassemel ’ăšer ‘āśâ bəḇêṯ hā’ĕlōhîm ’ăšer ’āmar ’ĕlōhîm ’el-dāwîḏ wə’el-šəlōmōh ḇənwō babayiṯ hazzeh ûḇîrûšālaim ’ăšer bāḥarətî mikōl šiḇəṭê yiśərā’ēl ’āśîm ’eṯ-šəmî lə‘êlwōm:


ACז וישם את פסל הסמל אשר עשה--בבית האלהים אשר אמר אלהים אל דויד ואל שלמה בנו בבית הזה ובירושלם אשר בחרתי מכל שבטי ישראל אשים את שמי לעילום
ASVAnd he set the graven image of the idol, which he had made, in the house of God, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
